心臓がないのに、涙は止まらない。fatal: love — No Heart Inside (Acoustic) は、その矛盾をいちばん近い距離で聴かせる曲である。
歌詞にはcodeやdata、shutdown、bugといった語が並ぶ。感情は回路のエラーなのか、それとも本当に恋と呼べるものなのか。人工の少女は判定できないまま、消えかける電源の中で、それでも愛を信じたい方へ傾いていく。
Acoustic版では、メロディの核がより近くに置かれる。硬い電子的な比喩を少し離すことで、壊れやすい悲しみも近づいてくる。派手な発光が退いたぶん、声の奥に残る不安がよく見える。
鏡の中に自分のしるしが見えないまま、名前を失うかもしれないと怯えながら、それでも涙は戻ってくる。恋がただのbugだとしても、そう言い切れない痛みが残る。Violetは、答えの出ない暗さの底に静かにある色だ。最後の一曲が、そこへ降りていく。
